Garlic City

Have you ever tried Aleia's brand? They sell it at Whole Foods now.... I had been to their restaurant in CT once, but then they closed down to only manufacture and sell their GF goods, which was a bummer - because the restaurant was great.

Anyway - I'm not a huge fan of their product. I've tried two kinds of cookies and two kinds of bread, not great -- but I like their regular breadcrumbs. I saw this Italian version and decided to try  it out -- I made meatballs with it, and they were OK except that there must be about 20 cloves of garlic in here. It was kinda gross. And I really like garlic, but not that much. Matt ate some and was up at night with heartburn & other issues -- he really can't have much garlic, it angers his insides.

Moral of story: if you love garlic, buy this product.

Yikes, good to know!

I somehow lost your email address, but would you and Matt like to check out Demetri Martin next week? He's here Thursday and Friday. I'm going to ask Jen, too, and a couple of other friends. Let me know!

Hmmm, forget I asked that. They were selling out super fast, so I grabbed tix for me, Jen, and a friend. If you guys want to come, we're going to the Thursday show. Sorry!

I have issues with too much garlic too :/. I'm still on the lookout for gf breadcrumbs that aren't crazy expensive! Sheesh!

Thanks for stopping by my blog :D, have a great weekend!

This is going to sound weird, but you know that works for really great GF breadcrumbs? Rice chex ceral. You don't really need bread at all! Just crush up some rice chex! We use it for meatballs, crabcakes, katsu (breaded chicken)...the works! You can see recipes for all of that stuff on my blog if you are interested!
